Chapter President's Message

My Fellow Alcornites:

As president elect for the 2019 through 2020 calendar year, I am committed to serving the Washington, D. C. metro area alumni interest.

As Alcornites, we are one. We demonstrate that oneness in all activities conducted through our chapter’s executive board’s leadership. A leadership that demonstrates commitment that is second to none among alumni chapters in the area.

I will encourage work in partnership with other chapters across the world in support of Alcorn State University. Internally, the Washington, D.C. metro chapter of Alcorn will create a team atmosphere while fostering a mindset of togetherness. We will meet issues head-on and overcome challenges in our path moving forward. And, our performance will be in keeping within the foundation of the National Alumni Association.

I am committed to implementing student recruitment, financial giving and increasing membership in support of the core mission goals of Alcorn State University National Alumni Association. Student recruitment has been good and will be maintained at its present level or increased pending an increase of resources. Recruitment of good students offers the opportunity for future successes for Alcorn. Likewise, our giving will continue to be the basic resource to fund scholarships and tools necessary for student to enroll and succeed. Finally, membership will be on the forefront of focus. Our members are the strength of the chapter. You’re the rubber that meets the road toward carrying out the mission of this chapter.

It is my commitment to demonstrated strong leadership and build on to the foundation laid by my predecessor.
