With the increasing labor force focus on the fields of math, science, liberal arts and technology, it goes without saying that these are essential areas of collegiate education in creating tomorrow's workforce. For more than thirty years the ASU Alumni Association of Washington, DC Metropolitan Area has supported making a quality education in these areas of study a reality for students by seeking financial support from our corporate community. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization that promotes the welfare of committed students by providing financial assistance for educational purposes only.
The ASU Alumni Association Scholarship is a program that addresses this issue. You can be assured that 100% of your tax deductible contribution will be designated for the ASU Alumni Association Scholarship program. In addition, the scholarship will be in your company name in recognition of your corporate contribution. This will help us to promote the preparation of succeeding generations of students as leaders, in all walks of life, so that they may attain their fullest potential as individuals, enjoy rewarding and fulfilling lives, and contribute to world of peace, progress and prosperity.
As a reminder, this Association focuses on students living in the Washington, DC metropolitan area who rely heavily on tuition assistance from organizations like ours and corporate donations. The need is great, and we hope to make a difference. To maximize our ability to benefit these efforts, your support is greatly appreciated.

Annual Alumni Giving
During the winter months of each year, the Association seeks donations from its members in order to make a financial contribution to the ASU Foundation at our annual Mid-Winter conference. In administering gifts, this chapter acts in a fiduciary capacity. All gifts are administered in strict compliance with the instructions of the donor. When a gift is not accompanied by instructions, it is administered as an unrestricted gift; that is, it is used to fulfill the greatest needs of Alcorn State University as determined by the essential faculty representative and the President of the 
University. In the event that a donor requests the establishment of special funds, such as scholarship funds, the alumni association recommends that details of such a request be worked out by the donor and the financial secretary for this alumni association, and written instructions for the administration of the funds be drafted and signed by the donor and the financial secretary for this chapter.

Scholarship Giving
Join the ASU Alumni Association, and be a part of the new beginning
at our alma mater. It is the easiest way to show your support for ASU and stay connected to campus.
Active Membership: Individuals who have successfully completed a minimum of three semester credit hours of course work at the undergraduate level.
Associate Membership: Individuals who are a friend or spouse of an Alcornite or an Alcorn Faculty member, who have demonstrated genuine interest in Alcorn and have expressed a desire to become affiliated with the alumni association.
Honorary Membership: May include such persons selected by the Association in recognition of outstanding and meritorious service to Alcorn or the Alumni Association. Honorary embers may not hold office, nor become members of the Board of Directors. They are not required to pay annual dues.
Life Membership: Life membership is $500.00 for those members who have purchased their membership as prescribed in the By-Laws. Life membership is free for those who are age 70 years and above.
Note...Graduating students, both undergraduate and graduate, are given one years active membership in the national alumni association upon graduation.
Local & National dues - $100.00/year
Local ONLY (Exempt from National by Life Membership or Age 70 or above)- $50.00/year
Associate Member: $12.50/year- National dues and $20.00/year Local dues
